From Monday 19 July, Gloucestershire Hospitals will be reopening its restaurant doors to visitors and patients after more than a year since the start of the COVID pandemic.

Fosters restaurant at Gloucestershire Royal Hospital and Blue Spa restaurant at Cheltenham General Hospital will be open from 7.30am to 6.30pm on weekdays and 8am to 2.30pm on weekends serving delicious hot and cold food and drinks to eat in or take away.

Since the start of the COVID pandemic, the catering teams at the hospitals have been on hand to offer a full range of food to NHS staff to help support their wellbeing at such a challenging time. In addition, patients on the wards have continued to be offered healthy balanced meals as part of their recovery. Now, in line with Government easing of restrictions, visitors and outpatients will also be able to benefit from a wide selection of great-value food produced fresh on-site once again.

Keith Hamer, Managing Director of Gloucestershire Managed Services who run the catering contact for Gloucestershire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust said: “We are delighted to be welcoming back visitors to our restaurants as of Monday. We pride ourselves on serving healthy and delicious food and we know people have missed the convenience of being able to eat at the hospital while they are here.”

All restaurants are card only. As a healthcare setting, people will still need to wear masks in the hospitals to help protect themselves and others around them.
